Q. What are some general rules for posting
messages?
A. These are a few things you
should consider before posting
a message:
- If you disagree with a message posted by
someone and wish to reply to it, do not attack the poster.
- Using inflammatory language may get your
posting privileges revoked. Instead, respond to the actual points
of disagreement, not the individual.
- Be succinct. If you want to get your
point across and readers have to sift through your message to get
to your meaning, they'll simply skip over the message.
- Stick to the topic and/or Message Board.
- Do not post a message about special
education to a Message Board about windsurfing. Find the
proper Message Board first, then the appropriate topic.
If you have a question about special
education for preschoolers, for example, find a Disability Board
or a Special Education Board, then look for a topic involving
preschoolers. If none is listed, then you can start a
new topic on that Message Board.
- Remember that your message will be
available for anyone with an Internet connection to read. Do not reveal
anything you do not want the world to know.
- Read the rules of the specific Message Board before posting a
message.
