Q. My son/daughter is 20 years old and
will be graduating from public school next June. Should
we start thinking about the future?
A. Yes! You should begin by
contacting your son/daughter’s social worker/guidance counsel at the
school.
He/she should be able to guide you through exploring
future day and vocational services offered to adults.
If you
have not done so, this is also the time to contact the Division
of Developmental Disabilities and begin a dialogue with your
son/daughter’s state
social worker.
