Family Support Mission
To provide families with resources and
information and to facilitate access to needed
services and supports.
Vision:
All family members and guardians of a person with a
developmental disability will be able to find and
access all supports necessary to their individual
needs. Family members will be provided with
information in a timely manner, and in a format
that is understood by them. Families will feel
empowered to act on behalf of their family member.
The Trudeau Center will welcome family members as
active partners on the team.
Family Support is not a program or a stand-alone
activity. The Family Support Coordinator works
within the agency and in each department/program to
provide a family perspective. Her role is
multi-faceted within this complex agency. She
provides information and resources to staff to
assist them in their daily work. She provides
information and support to families on an
individual basis, as needed.
The Family Support Coordinator is responsible
for coordinating workshops and training sessions
for families and staff of all programs,
participating on planning projects and researching
available resources as requested. An exciting
function of the Family Support Coordinator is the
administration of the agency's Mini-Grant
program.
New referrals to the various programs are
directed to the Family Support Coordinator as their
initial contact in the agency. Tours and
introductions to specific programs are coordinated
through Family Support.
If you have any questions or need additional,
please contact the Family Support Coordinator at
739-2700 extension 260, or email her at
